Artist Statement
My aim is to use the affective or emotive qualities from the physical presence of sound to devolve power structures surrounding white supremacy, toxic masculinity, and capitalism. Using ephemeral auditory material I repurpose captured sound to archive, reinterpret, and imagine equitable futures.
As a vessel for personal and cultural traumas, I give myself over to my sonic environment. Participating in specific aural surroundings involves attuned attention. Listening can be an act of love.
